Inclusion, participation and accessible services for all
EnableMe Insights is your platform for practical research in the field of inclusion. We provide you with authentic insights from people with disabilities and chronic illnesses to identify accessibility needs and barriers. With our participatory design approach, we support public administrations in making their services barrier-free and thus accessible to all people.
Why are inclusion and accessibility important for the public sector?
-
15%
of all employees experience a disability at some point in their careers (Source: CDI-HSG).
-
97%
of the digital space is NOT accessible to people with disabilities (Source: WebAIM).
-
38%
of all persons with disabilities have difficulties in accessing and using daily public services and products.

-
Mobility: Accessible Travel right from the Start
A rail company aims to make its new vehicle fleet fully accessible from day one. In the past, retrofitting trains with ramps and other adjustments for people with physical disabilities cost them millions. Now, they want to integrate accessibility into the design process, both to reduce costs and meet their corporate responsibility goals. We recruit 30 participants with specific physical disabilities for qualitative interviews, focus groups and prototype testing to ensure the new trains are accessible to all.

Needs analysis of citizens with disabilities and chronic illnesses in the canton
A canton would like to better understand the accessibility needs of its residents and the related requirements for public services. The goal: to increase the participation of all people and ensure that public services are truly accessible. EnableMe Insights builds a database of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses in the canton. Through targeted interviews with a representative panel of citizens with disabilities, we identify specific needs and challenges in everyday life, especially in the area of public services. This helps to precisely record and understand the existing barriers. The collected data and insights are clearly structured and presented, including practical recommendations for action. This empowers the canton to become more inclusive and ensure equal participation for all residents.

«In 2023 we engaged with the team at Enable Me to support Open Inclusion with global research we were running on disability representation. Enable Me was very responsive and supported us throughout the survey design and delivery. They managed the interpretation into German that was both culturally as well as linguistically suitable for the communities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. They then worked closely with their community to engage a significant number of respondents to the survey within the timeframes required and with high quality responses. We really enjoyed and appreciated the professionalism of the engagement throughout the research process.»
